 | This Doo Wop fivesome is comprised of members of two separate groups: The 5 Wings and The Scale-Tones. In the summer of 1957, the group released "Don't Ask Me To Be Lonely" and the record was picked up for national release. It peaked at #72 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
The group's next single, "Could This Be Magic", was another pop hit, rising to #23 in 1957 and becoming recognised over the years as a doo-wop classic. In July 1959, "Chapel of Dreams" rose to #74 on the charts. | | Pittsburgh's New Holidays make their debut and offer a wide variety of tunes including renditions of The Exciters "Tell Him," The Holidays' original "Miss You" and a great slow-fast version of Frankie Lymon's "Why Do Fools Fall In Love." The New Holidays include Sam Ferrella on lead and 1st tenor, Lou Ann Shields on lead and 1st tenor, Bill Reichert on lead, 2nd tenor and baritone, and Bryan McClain on lead, bass, baritone and guitar. |
